September 15, 2026 • developer interviews + official Blizzard correction

Beta starts at level 20, dungeon ranges corrected, and new raid/LFG/addon/PvP details emerge

The post-BlizzCon information stream is still moving. Today brought one official dungeon correction plus several developer-interview details that meaningfully change how Forever’s beta, grouping, raids, addons and PvP should be described.

Beta starts at level 20 — level 30 comes later

Blizzard’s official beta window remains September 17 through October 21. A newer developer interview clarifies that the test begins with a level-20 cap, with the cap planned to rise to level 30 after a couple of weeks. The exact date of the increase has not been published.

Blizzard corrected Krol’dok Stronghold and published all nine ranges

Blizzard community manager Kaivax clarified that some BlizzCon materials listed Krol’dok Stronghold incorrectly. Its official range is 40–45. The full official list is now Hall of Thanes 13–18, Ruins of Lordaeron 15–20, Excavation Site: Wetlands 24–29, City of Dalaran 28–33, The Drowned City 35–40, Krol’dok Stronghold 40–45, Alcaz Prison 48–53, Blackmaw Hold 55–60 and Shaper’s Terrace 58–60.

Every raid tier should include 10-player and 20-player options

Developers said Forever will not use flex raid sizing. Each raid tier is intended to include at least one fixed 10-player raid and one fixed 20-player raid, with 40-player raids appearing sometimes. The launch examples are Barrow Deeps (10), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia’s Lair (40).

Meeting Stones open LFG — they do not summon

Meeting Stones will help players discover and list groups through a Looking for Group interface, but they will not summon party members. There is no Retail-style one-button group assembly and teleport. Warlocks keep their summoning niche, and Blizzard explicitly says it wants to preserve the social downtime of gathering before a dungeon.

Addons remain, but combat automation is being restricted

Developers did not publish a full addon compatibility matrix, but they did say modern-style in-combat restrictions will carry over to Forever. The target is computational automation such as programmatic marking or communication for players. Exact API behavior will need beta testing.

PvP gets seasonal progression to Rank 14

Honor earned through Battlegrounds and PvP-related content will advance a ranking system within a season or patch cycle. Developers say players can progress to Rank 14, with cosmetic rewards and PvP armor that carries stats.

Quality-of-life features spotted in the BlizzCon build

Creator footage also shows a modern Auction House, built-in damage meter, guild banks, Discord guild-chat integration, a Barber Shop, new Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor loading screens and Stormwind Harbor. These are useful signals, but we keep them labeled as demo / creator footage rather than final launch guarantees.
