The core idea
Forever is designed as a long-term home for players who want the pace, social fabric and grounded world structure of original WoW, but with new adventures rather than a repeat of the historical expansion path. Panel coverage described four design pillars: approachable and familiar, the world as the main character, the journey before the destination, and protecting social experiences.
World content
Reveal coverage points to more than 1,000 new quests spread across the 1–60 journey, new and overhauled areas, nine dungeons, new raids and a new battleground. The dedicated pages on this portal track every named location separately.
Level 60 stays central
Forever is framed around continuing the level-60 game rather than using traditional expansion-style vertical leveling. The exact long-term itemization and power progression model is still being clarified.
Character changes
Race/class combinations are expanding. The Skyborne are a new playable race, and deep-dive coverage highlights Skyborne Druids with new forms. Same-day panel reports conflict on the exact faction mapping for Shaman and Mage, so this portal leaves that pairing unverified until Blizzard publishes the final matrix.
Modern conveniences with Classic controls
The panel reportedly confirmed optional transmog, an SD/HD character model toggle, gamepad support and a Hardcore mode. At the same time, no flying mounts and no level scaling were emphasized as part of preserving the original world experience.
Social systems
Camping creates portable crafting stations and rewards multiple players gathering around camps. The Legacy System is intended to make repeated leveling journeys meaningful by granting perks for alternate characters.
What is not fully known yet
Exact class talent trees, complete racial/class matrices, raid boss lists, dungeon level ranges, loot tables, profession recipes, server structure and the long-term content cadence still need official documentation or beta verification.
