World of Warcraft: Forever officially announced
Blizzard turns the long-running Classic+ conversation into a named, third World of Warcraft experience — and it launches in just a few weeks.
At the BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony, Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever as its new third World of Warcraft experience alongside Modern and Classic.
Blizzard says Forever returns to the first year of WoW and creates new paths through Vanilla-era Azeroth. The official reveal confirms three new zones, more than 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids and the new Skyborne race.
Release date and beta
The full launch is set for November 4, 2026, while beta testing begins September 17.
What the later deep dive added
Later panel coverage named four launch regions or region-level destinations and expanded on dungeons, raids, class changes, Camping, the Legacy System, optional transmog, model toggles, gamepad support and Hardcore. Because Blizzard's opening recap specifically says “three new zones,” this portal preserves that official wording and treats the later four-name list as a broader set of launch regions until Blizzard clarifies the categorization.
